I'm going to combine two yarns into this peplum tank. I like the shape, but solid blocks of color will be more flattering on a full figure.

Unlike the owner of the blog where I found this picture, I like the shape very much. For a full-figured woman such as myself, the lines are slimming, especially when altered slightly.
I will use fewer stitches to start with, to make what is already a modest peplum "skirt" even smaller. This is what is flattering to a figure such as mine:
1. Starting off just above the widest part of the body and instantly decreasing. Instant waistline creation.
2. I will incorporate two vertical stripes of a lighter color where those checkered vertical blocks are in the front. This will also be slimming.
3. The v-neck is slimming and, for me, the perfect depth - deep enough to draw the eye down, but not too revealing.
4. The somewhat chunky straps keep the shoulders from appearing too wide.
5. I have two colors to work with, a dark blue and a lighter greenish blue. I will knit with as much of the darker color as possible - I think if the straps and vertical stripes are the lighter color, I'll have enough of the blue to make this work.
6. I'll knit the whole garment in stockinette stitch, because a flat fabric is more flattering on me - less is more, in this case.
I will post a picture when I'm done, hopefully this new idea will inspire me to start using these yarns that have been languishing in my knitting bag for quite some time.
Also, we had a short spell of hot weather, enough to spark my interest in tank tops again. It's cool and rainy now, but the memory is not far away.

I've finally got a couple photos of my finished project using
Bamboo Yarn by Be Sweet and had to announce it. My favorite model is modeling, my granddaughter Alora. I know, I'm a bit prejudiced...but, do they get any sweeter?
The fabric is like buttery silk - sure, I thought the finished sweater was cute, but when I put it on her, all I could say was WOW. (I rarely WOW at my own knitting, usually I'm like "thank God it's done, now on to something new.")
Me, the gabby one, at a loss for words. It's just dreamy. The drape is divine.
The perfect sweater for my little angel.
